About CWGA
Since 1987, the Clarksburg Winegrape Growers Association has worked to promote the high quality wine and wine grapes of this premiere growing region. Through honesty, integrity, hard work, and quality relationships, both vintners and growers in the Clarksburg AVA have made a name for themselves in the industry and among consumers.
The majority of our grower members—some from farm families located in the area for generations—are individuals directly involved in their vineyards and have a personal commitment to produce the best grapes possible. CWGA growers directly work with the wineries to achieve the high-quality grapes they demand.
There are over 7,000 acres of wine grapes grown by our grower members. We grow over 35 varieties, the most popular being Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Merlot, Petite Sirah, and Sauvignon Blanc.
CWGACWGA is made up of grower members and Industry Partners. It’s committed to growing awareness, improving quality, and fostering sustainable growth for the Clarksburg Appellation. |
